Civil War Authentic Reproduction – Waterbury Button Company. The Waterbury Button Company had manufactured brass buttons in Waterbury, CT since 1812. These Buttons are authentic reproductions of Waterbury Buttons worn by both the Confederate and Union Soldiers during the Civil War. Interestingly, the Waterbury Button Company supplied both side during the conflict. While the Union purchased direct from the Waterbury Button Company, the Confederacy purchased through British intermediaries. Each button in this collection has a different insignia on it which signifies what rank each soldier was.
